The Seaplane Venture Fund has made an investment in the Seed round of Better Auth, an open-source software company enabling the most comprehensive authentication framework for Typescript. The round was led by Peak XV Partners with participation from Y Combinator, Chapter One, P1 Ventures, Seaplane, and other funds and angel investors.

Better Auth jumped out to Seaplane because of the hustle of its founder, Bereket Engida, who was featured in TechCrunch after the deal was announced yesterday. We were also struck by the tremendous pull from the developer community for Better Auth as clear from its engaged Discord community and 15k Github stars. Better Auth was at less than 20k weekly downloads at the start of 2025, 109k when we first engaged with the company in early May, and now stands at 150,000 weekly downloads.

Congrats to Bereket and the team. We look forward to supporting him and Better Auth for years to come.
