The Seaplane Venture Fund invested in the Seed round of Ruck, a Utah-based startup that is building a DoorDash for Construction. The round was led by SNAK Venture Partners and ANIMO Ventures. To be technical, Seaplane actually invested a bit in advance of the round in order to support Ruck heading into this hugely oversubscribed round, a move that we were happy make given Ruck's outstanding traction and CEO and Cofounder, Lee Chang.

Project delays are frustrating and expensive for contractors, which makes Ruck's ability to get large, bulky orders delivered to job sites via a fleet of trucks in a couple of hours a major pain relief. Ruck's strong early traction in Salt Lake City, which was replicated in other markets, piqued our interest. We also noted that RenoRun -- a Tiger-backed startup that raised vast sums during the Covid boom but then went bust -- proved there is strong demand for a network that can provide delivery for construction professionals. Unlike RenoRun, though, Ruck has a flexible, scalable business model thanks to its gig fleet of truck-owning drivers.

Congrats to Lee, Cofounder Shaun Merritt, and the team. We look forward to supporting and Ruck for years to come.
